Had an email from my GF Sue asking what's for lunch, and decided to post this in her honor. Since Rosie's here I cooked up a feast, and we had white jasmine rice, ikan bilis and roasted peanuts, tau-yew braised pork tenderloin, stir-fried garlic red spinach, curry chicken with tau-bok, loofah (sweet ridged gourd) with chili and haebee stir-fry, and minced turkey with green peas in tomatoe sauce.
It's nice having a guest from Hong Kong, and I am having my share of asian cooking and conversations in Cantonese and Hokkien. It's such a treat to have her here and making different dishes for her. And she's also teaching/showing me the different types of green vegetables at the asian market. Rosie is an avid veggie-eater, and loves bitter vegetables. Although I am not a big fan of bitter gourd and such, I enjoy watching her eat her veggies and sampling a variety of veggies with her. Thanks Rosie!

Hi!
I stumbled upon your blog and really like your photos. I got a big kick of your cooking as well (and got hungry but what's new). I grew up in Singapore and then moved to the US for school, so I really appreciated that your writing and your musings about transnational food and influences.
I write a food blog as well, about Singaporean/travel food and cooking, now that I'm back in Asia. I'd like to link your site, if you are ok with that and would be honoured if you would reciprocate.
Come visit or email me at epicurative.blogspot.com
Best, Weylin
Aiyo, so much "liao". You cooked so many dishes for lunch, you are very hardworking! Looks delicious!
I was going to say. Just you and your girls and you have such an elaborate lunch. Having Rosie there explains it. :)) What about me? That ikan bilis and peanuts...yum and the vegie (angle lofah?). That is such a great lunch. Who needs dinner after that? :))
Hi Judy,
Please come by and I'll make you some too! Yes, it's angle lofah, and Rosie showed me that veggie as I had forgotten about it. And I finally found product of malaysia Roxy brand ikan bilis here! :)
