Great weekend 3 day Steak weekend

Both sides of rib-eye covered with salt and dried herbs.

It was a beautiful 3-day weekend here for Labor Day, and we got to spend time with family and friends and added Hub's office move in between. The kids had fun chasing each other, giving hugs to familiar faces, and climbing onto everything as toddlers tend to do.

Except for the party on Saturday, every bbq had beef in the spread. Which brings me to this post. I tried Steamy's Kitchen salt treated steaks on several Rib-eyes and a thick stab of london broil, and they all came out excellent. The 'choice' ribeyes came out so tender and juicy. And what's great is that the 'select' london broil became soooo flavorful and tender, which is not something I often say about that cut of meat!

I generously covered the steaks with salt and dried herbs and left it for 45mins to 1 hour, then rinse off the salt, pat it dry and grill them to your liking.

Though you can't see it, the London Broil that was treated with salt, rinsed and grilled was definitely more tender.

Thanks Sista Steamy Kitchen!

Will try this tip with pork chops next time. I used to douse them with soda bicarbonate.

Hi Alice,
Depending on the thickness of your pork chops, you may want to decrease the time needed to salt or else you'll have salty chops. :)

Hi Cris,
Yes, rinsing off the salt makes the meat tasty instead of salty. :)

Hi Daphne,
LOL! Yeah, all this yummy steaks thanks to our fellow blogger Jaden at Steamy Kitchen. :)
